What can
I help with
I have clinical experience working with a wide range of issues including trauma, bereavement, family conflict, separation and divorce, anxiety, depression, stress, self-harm, low self esteem, identity, ADHD and life transitions. I work in private practice, and am also a freelance therapist for the Diocese of Chichester.
My approach and fee
First and foremost, I focus on building trust and a warm, therapeutic relationship with my clients.
I work integratively by tailoring my approach to each client, using a variety of therapy models all underpinned by neurobiological research, including talking therapy, EMDR and if appropriate the use of creative media.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a well-researched therapy that helps the brain process difficult or traumatic experiences that may feel “stuck.” EMDR helps the brain reprocess these memories so they become less emotionally overwhelming. The client will still remember what happened, but it often no longer carries the same level of distress.
I adopt a holistic approach to my work – acknowledging that you can’t separate out the mind and body. I also consider the positive influence of lifestyle factors on emotional well-being and resilience. Running and swimming in the sea in all seasons are a pivotal part of my own well-being.
I charge £70 per 50 minute session.
